Practice of Medicine department is well established with a separate museum, demonstration room, departmental library and staff room separately furnished with all the state-of-the-art facilities along with information notice boards for staff as well as for student activities. Students of III BHMS and Final BHMS are taught as per the curriculum of Central Council of Homoeopathy and The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai.
Museum
Department museum consists of 176 number of multi colored flex charts, 212 numbers of instruments for identification and learning their usage, numerous specimens and models for better understanding, one full sized Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation kit for training the Final BHMS students in emergency management. Department library contains more than 100 books including various specialty books for enhancing the knowledge of the students.
Staff Room
Separate cubicles for HOD, Reader and Lecturers with ample facilities are available in the department attached with department library.
Demonstration Room
A separate demonstration room with fully equipped audio-visual aids is available for video demonstrations of systemic examinations and educating the students about various symptomatology and diagnostic signs of systemic diseases and disorders.
Teaching Programme consists of
- Theory classes
- Bed side clinics – Students will take the cases and present in IPD Medical ward.
- Case discussions – Discussion about the diagnosis, investigations, general management, remedial management and the prognosis of the case will be discussed.
- Demonstrations / Seminars done with the help of audio-visual aids and models for clinics in the IPD Medical ward.
- Theory teaching done using Power point presentation; Videos; Demonstrations with specimens.
